Childcare meets designer chic at this trendy five star sea front hotel. Almyra, part of the Thanos Hotels group and a member of Design Hotels, is sister hotel to the nearby Annabelle and Anassa in Latchi. It has the feel of a contemporary seaside resort and families play a key part at Almyra (although it is also perfect for hip couples).

Almyra is undergoing some exciting renovations with the addition of a new 33m x 7m infinity pool in the garden overlooking the sea. It will sport four new sunbathing terraces, a pool house for shade. The adjoining new Terrace Sea View rooms will have expanded terraces overlooking the new pool. Deluxe One Bed Suites and the Lobby restaurant will also be refurbished. Work will be completed by the end of February 2017.

The interior is cool and contemporary but the staff are warm and friendly and the overall effect is very soothing. Rooms, which are minimalist and simple in décor, are refreshingly bright and airy with floor to ceiling windows. The garden and pool areas give a real feeling of privacy and relaxed style. The beautiful al fresco signature restaurant Notios really comes into its own at night with sensual lighting and the sounds of the sea in the background. The AlmyraSpa has a range of treatment rooms, two spa suites with water therapy and an outside deck for yoga. In addition there is an indoor and an outdoor pool (both adult only), Eauzone Restaurant, a state of the art gym and a tennis court.

The children’s facilities are simply superb. Special features include a crèche and Kids’ Club (split into four age groups) and the inspired “Baby Go Lightly” programme, whereby everything a travelling baby might need can be pre-booked from sterilisers to pushchairs. If you like to venture out in the evenings, the restaurants, bars and shops of modern Paphos are a short stroll away. Almyra is the winner of the Best Family Hotel (Europe) in the Junior Design Awards 2015.

A fantastic holiday. Hotel was amazing and so was the service. Nothing was trouble for the staff.

20-August-2013 / Raaji Ryait/ Customer rating: ★★★★★
Our stay at Almyra for our wedding anniversary exceeded our expectations. The hotel was lovely and better than we thought.  The views from the infinity pool are great and probably one of the best in Cyprus. The half board was better than expected, especially the Chinese night! Would definately return. PS - surrounding area not much to see but hotel and weather great!

20-August-2013 / Susanne Burton / Customer rating: ★★★★★★★
We really enjoyed our 10 days at the Alymra Hotel. The location was perfect for us next to the sea and only a short walk from the town and port of Paphos. Our garden rooms were large and clean and the air conditioning was a must as temperatures reached 34 degrees. The style is minimalist but comfortable. The hotel facilities were fine for our needs and the Annabelle next door had other pools and the Kids club which some of the children went to and enjoyed, particularly pottery making and football. We enjoyed the breakfast and evening buffet meals at the Mosaics restaurant. The food was always of very high quality and the presentation and quantities faultless. My lasting impression of the hotel will be of the staff, without exception they were welcoming and friendly ensuring that everything we needed was provided with a quiet professionalism which is commendable. In particular, Velico and Anton in the Notios restaurant took special care of us.

08-August-2013 / Lorna / Customer rating: ★★★★★★★                  We had 10 days in one of the Almyra Villas as the luxury suite was on the third floor and not suiteable for 3year old who would spend most of his time trying to scale the balcony!.The management could not have been more helpful and we were moved to adjoining villas I paid a all in all perfect holiday.small surchard but the villa was worth every penny wonderfull views out to sea very comfortable I could not praise it more highly. Our whole stay wae made perfect .lby helpful smiling nothing was too much trouble staff. The food was delicious. Lydia and Marco very pleased with the child which was excellent. In all a perfect holiday I highly recommend.

31-July-2012 / Julia Richardson / Customer rating: ★★★★★★            Had a great family holiday for 10 days and would be very interested in returning next year. Connecting rooms gave our family of 5 plenty of room and the food in the daily themed buffet was delicious. Very clean everywhere and the cover over the pool was a brilliant idea to protect from the sun and heat. Only critiscm would be that the baths are too narrow so soak the bathroom floor which becomes slippery and dangerous. We also suggested that the booking for the childrens club was reviewed and perhaps altered so that it could only be booked the day before requirement. We arrived and discovered that the kids club was infact fully booked for the next few weeks. We succeeded in getting our older daughters into the kids club but only if they had a cancellation.

07-July-2012 / A Neilson / Customer rating: ★★★★★★                 Main areas beautiful and great to have so many toddlers and babies about. Rooms not flash but pleasant and fairly clean. We had garden room at back f hotel near main road and very noisy! Would go for a sea view room next time. Food excellent. Flight wasn`t till later in the day and nowhere to change after being at pool during day, which was a bit inconvenient.

05-July-2011 / Nick Nov / Customer rating: ★★★★                        Great facilities like creche and food was great/ we got a superior sea view room, this was a big let down. the room was small, the furniture was in a poor state/ the tv was from 1958 in a cabinet that was cheap and nasty/ no dressing table/ very poor 3star we upgraded to a Kyma Suite 5 star which was lovely and we paid an extra 130 euro a night for the pleasure/ on top of what we paid the agent we were then told by another couple they also hated the room and got a free upgrade. what a shame about the room and their conning us out of extra money when everything else was very nice 4 star resort/ 3 star room unless you`re in a Kyma Suite.

26-May-2011 / CJ Lew / Customer rating: ★★★★★★
Fabulous hotel, great combination of stylish interior, good food and perfect for babies and young children. Lovely staff who seem to genuinely like little ones and are happy to help wherever they can!

16-November-2010 / G M Anderson / Customer rating: ★★★★★★    Very much the designer hotel with large open lobby/lounge and lots of seating areas. Rooms all with good sea views but the bathrooms as ever in these type of hotels more style than function. Basins too small and shower screen not long enough so wet floor!! Expensive to dine in but lots of nearby alternatives. Spa offers plenty of options but expensive for what you get. Customer services will organise all your needs re car hire, excursions etc but local car hire company used by the hotel provided a wreck of a 4x4 and charged top whack for it. Go out from hotel to organise car hire yourself!! Lovely setting on the bay and outstanding sunsets so overall fine place to stay in Paphos.

15-September-2010 / Z Rich / Customer rating: ★★★★★★★          This has to be one of the most family friendly hotels I have ever been to, while retaining the things that matter, eg quality of food, cleanliness, adult only spaces etc. The kids club and crèche were amazing, Emma, Katie, Erica, Melanie just do such a fabulous job, the children didn’t want to leave. Our youngest was delighted to go to the crèche and despite being 2 going on 6 he didn’t moan once when dropped off. The activities arranged even for him were brilliant! As for the kids club, awesome. Overall, the place is amazing. We are definitely aiming to be back next year. There is no doubt it’s an expensive break, the food is dear if not on HB, the drinks are quite expensive too, but not any more so than in any other 5* hotel. The location was irrelevant to us as we did not intend to eat out in Paphos, which frankly is not much to write home about. If you do need bits the supermarket is a short 5 minute walk away, so perfectly placed. If I were to really nit pick, it would be the fact that it is v. accessible to those from outside the hotel, anyone could walk up to the pool area (both adult and kids). One night I walked through the hotel in the evening, to nip to the shop and was fairly sure that outsiders were using the spa pool (after hours). Maybe someone sitting there to ensure it isn’t used could be an idea. However, it really wasn’t that big an issue, just a minor observation. The other observation was that the clientele changed slightly during our second week (and with it the tone) - more couples without children - due to the Opera taking place in Paphos. We know we will return a little earlier in the school holidays to ensure the children have more kids to play with. If you have children who aged between 0 – 10 this is the hotel for you. Thank you to the whole team there who made our stay so wonderful. We hope to see you within the next 12 months!

14-April-2010 / B Goldman / Customer rating: ★★★★★★★             The Almyra is most definitely a 5 star hotel. We think it is elegant, stylish and absolutely perfect for a family holiday. The Kyma suite is great and very spacious. The staff are lovely and the kids club was a huge success! This is definitely a place we would recommend - although we wouldn t come at this time of the year again. We ve been incredibly lucky with the weather as it s been gorgeous every day but today. However we`re told that it can be very unsettled at this time of year and if the weather hadn t been good there would have been nothing to do. Fortunately we didn t have that problem. Anyway I m glad we didn t go for the Anassa as I can`t imagine we d have liked it any better or had any better a holiday. We have stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels around the world and this one is way up there. The staff simply could not have done more or been friendlier. The kids club is fantastic and even the food was lovely and despite being half board, they varied the menu a lot so we didn’t get bored. The only complaint (from my husband) is that there isn’t really a beach – more a teeny tiny strip of sand – but as the pool area was so nice it didn’t really matter. I would not advise anyone with children to get a "garden facing" room however as they are really just facing a dual carriageway and are very noisy - particularly as there is a nightclub across the road. Anyone with children should ensure sea facing rooms and should also try and get one on the ground floor so that the kids can run straight out into the grounds. Also then very easy to get to the pool.
